Lexington Medical Leads Pink Glove Dance Competition

Voting in the competition runs through Oct. 26.

Lexington Medical Center's video to raise awareness about breast cancer is leading in the Pink Glove Dance Competition, with about 1,500 votes in less than three days.

Lexington Medical is competing against more than 260 healthcare organizations for a grand prize of $10,000 for a breast cancer charity of their choice.

When voting in the competition started Friday, the Pink Glove Dance website experienced technical difficulties due to the overwhelming number of people trying to vote.

Last year, Lexington Medical Center's video took home the winning title with more thanΒ 60,000 likes.Β 

Voting for the 2012 Pink Glove Dance contest runs through Oct. 26.Β To vote, go toΒ pinkglovedance.comΒ and click the Facebook like button for Lexington Medical Center's video. You need a Facebook account to vote, and may only vote once.

The contest is sponsored by the medical supplies manurfacturing company Medline. One of the company's products is pink gloves called "Generation Pink." The gloves were designed to get people talking about breast cancer, and are used in the video entries. For every case of pink gloves purchased, Medline donates a dollar to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
