Lexington Nonprofit Needs School Supplies

A Lexington nonprofit wants to make sure children have the supplies they need when school starts next month.

, is collecting school supplies to distribute to families who can't afford to pay for bookbags, pencils and paper.

Donations can be dropped off at LICS at 216 Harmon Street.

LICS provides families and individuals who are struggling to meet basic needs with food, clothes and financial assistance for prescriptions, electric bills and rent or mortgage. 

School supplies needed include:

• lunch boxes
• notebook paper
• spiral notebooks
• book covers
• three-ring binders
• three-ring binder dividers
• report covers
• crayons
• glue
• primary scissors
• pencils
• pens
• construction paper
• colored pencils
• pencil sharpeners
• plastic rulers
• erasers
• highlighters
• dry erase markers
• folders with prongs
• supply boxes
• pocket folders (no prongs)
• hand sanitizer
• tissue packets
• baby wipes
• pull-ups (for boys and girls)
