Lexington One Announces LEAP Winners
Five schools and one district department were recognized for their support of LEAP, a program that assists district employees and families in need and supports educational programs.
Five Lexington One schools and one district department received awards from te Lexington One Educational Foundatin in recognition of their support of LEAP, a program that benefits district employees and families in need and educational initiatives, and is funded soley by donations from Lexington One employees.
Gilbert Primary, Midway Elementary, Red Bank Elementary, Carolina Springs Middle, the Lexington Technology Center and the Lexington One Building Maintenance and Facilities department all received awards.
The foundation gives the awards based on the percentage of increased dollar amount donated over the previous year. The three elementary schools, the middle school, the high school and the district department with the highest percentage increase receive the awards.

“Lexington One employees, through their voluntary donations and participation in LEAP, make a statement that they are committed to the missions of Lexington One and the Educational Foundation,” said Connie McFarland, executive director of the foundation.
Employees can designate their donation to the Lexington Employee Assistance Plan and/or the Lexington Education Assistance Plan.

Funds given to the employee assistance plan support the Employee Crisis Fund and the We Care Fund that provide financial assistance and/or in-kind services to permanent full-time and permanent part-time employees and students dealing with crisis situations.
The education plan provides financial support for the district’s Schools of the Future — NOW! initiative.
