Notes on Votes: Lexington Town Council July 9
Town council annexed properties and voted on a sign ordinance at their regular meeting Tuesday.

Lexington Town Council members voted Tuesday to revise the town's sign ordinance to allow automated signs and to annex three properties.Â
Council members voted to:Â
- Allow electronic signs with changeable text. The electronic portion of the sign may not exceed 18 square feet, and the message can't change more than one time in 12 hours, according to the ordinance. Photographs or animation are not allowed on the signs.Â
- Annex 5372 Sunset Boulevard. Kangaroo Express is located on the .92-acre property. It is zoned general commercial.Â
- Annex 138 Corley Mill Road. is located on the 43.22 acres. The property is zoned limited commercial.Â
- Annex 115 Riverchase Way. is located on the 4.44-acre property. It is zoned as general commercial.Â

- Voted to approve the first reading of an ordinance for the issuance of bond anticipation notes to help finance the town's water and sewer system improvements.Â
- Voted to approve the first reading of an ordinance for the issuance of general obligation bond anticipation notes to help fund redevelopment projects for downtown and road repair and improvement projects.
