Officers Seize Cocaine, Marijuana, Guns Near Gaston

Three people were arrested Friday during the drug bust at a home on Deer Crossing.

Officers arrested three people and seized two guns and about $3,000 in drugs Friday during a drug bust at a home near Gaston. 

Brittney Nicole Jay, 26, Samuel Derrell Sims, 20, and Christopher Tywhun Wilson, 37, were arrested on charges related to the sale of cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.

Officers with the Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) executed a search warrant Friday at the house at 344 Deer Crossing, where Jay, Sims and Wilson all live, according to the sheriff's department. The search warrant was the result of a two-month undercover investigation.

NET officers seized about two ounces of marijuana, about 14 grams of crack cocaine and about 10 grams of cocaine, according to the sheriff's department. They also seized one High Point 9-mm handgun and one .22-caliber Mossberg rifle. 

Jay is charged with trafficking in crack cocaine, possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute it, possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute it and possessing a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, according to the sheriff's department.

Sims is charged with trafficking in crack cocaine, possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute it, possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute it, possessing a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, distributing cocaine and distributing crack cocaine.

Wilson is charged with trafficking in crack cocaine, possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute it, possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute it, possessing a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and two counts of distributing cocaine.

Jay, Sims and Wilson were being held Friday at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
