Radius Church Expands West Main Street Campus

Construction is underway at the empty store next to Radius Church's main building.

Radius Church is converting a 12,000-square-foot empty store into part of its West Main Street campus.

Construction on the building, which is located next to the existing Radius Church building at 300 West Main Street, is expected to be complete by the end of June.

The space will be used for youth and children's programs and for staff offices. The Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce, which is located across the street from Radius Church, will also use the new space for its monthly networking breakfasts.

Expanding Our Radius

Overflowing in faith but coming up short in space, Radius Church in Lexington has embarked on an expansion project that will allow the church to continue to grow as the number of people who call Radius their ‘home’ increases.

Five years ago, the staff at Radius was excited to see one hundred people come join in worship. Today, with nearly one thousand believers coming through the doors of what used to be an Ace Hardware store on Main Street and a second Radius campus just recently planted in White Knoll, it made sense to expand.

With much prayer and consideration, church leaders decided to purchase the vacant building next door to Radius and create room to accommodate staff, children and the growing community of believers.

Construction on the 12,000 sq. ft. facility kicked off in March with an outpouring of support from Radius partners, as many came out to help with the demolition. The growth and expansion of this multipurpose building is welcomed and appreciated by the people who worship and serve at Radius.

Parents are especially excited because the new building means more room for their kids to run around and pour out some energy on Sunday mornings. During services, children will head over to the new space to play, worship and build their community of friends. Middle and high school students will also use the new area for their weekly Bible studies and events.

Brand new offices are being built to accommodate the staff that work so hard to make Radius run as efficiently as it does. Currently, one board room table serves as the single work space for 8 full-time staff members. One can only imagine what they will be able to accomplish once they have more room to think and create!

Not only will the new building be used for church purposes, but the local Chamber of Commerce, led by Mayor Halfacre, plans to host their monthly networking breakfasts in this new facility as well. Growing within the community is absolutely necessary to Radius, and church leaders are excited to open the doors to all of those in our community who are involved in making Lexington a better place to live and serve.

This is a time of growth and positive change for the church and there are no signs of slowing down the expansion of Radius. The renovations are expected to be completed by the end of June.
