Rain to Continue in Afternoon

Be sure you have an umbrella on hand today. 

While the rain is expected to let off during the middle of the day, the scattered thunderstorms could be back around 4 p.m., according to The Weather Channel. 

Steady rain Monday and today has caused problems on some roadways. Water is standing on I-20 westbound near mile marker 58, according to the S.C. Department of Public Safety. The road is still open, but drivers should be cautious. 

Rainfall in the Lexington area Monday was between 0.7 and 1.64 inches, according to the National Weather Service in Columbia. Other parts of the state had 2 or more inches of rain. 

The high in Lexington will reach 80 today, and the skies willl be cloudy even when it's not raining.
