Recreation Commission Plans New Restrooms at Baseball Fields
The recreation commission plans to build new restrooms at the Duffie Drive baseball fields.

New restrooms are coming to the baseball fields on Duffie Drive. Β
The Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission plans to build the facility for about $20,000, said town administrator Britt Poole.Β
Lexington Town Council recently voted to extend sewer service to the baseball fields. The cost for the extension is $6,000.Β

The recreation commission has portable restrooms at the baseball fields, but the closest permanent restrooms are across the street at the soccer fields. The recreation commission also maintains those restrooms.Β
Community members and council members said that's too far for young children who play at the fields.Β

"Especially when you've got little kids, they can't wait," said councilman Ted Stambolitis. "They need something closer."Β
Construction of the restrooms could be complete in December or January, Poole said.Β
