Report: Men Steal Electronics, Marijuana From West Columbia Apartment
Deputies are investigating a robbery that happened at the West Vista Apartments Sunday.

A West Columbia resident told deputies that four or five men broke into his apartment around 9:45 p.m. Sunday and stole an iPad, two cell phones and marijuana, according to a Lexington County Sheriff's Department report.
The man said that his roommate opened the door at their West Vista apartment after someone knocked, according to the report. Four or five men wearing dark clothing and masks were at the door.Β
One of the men had a gun and hit his roommate over the head with it, according to the report. The men then stole the two residents' cell phones, an iPad and marijuana. They left in a Dodge Avenger.Β

The resident who reported the incident didn't tell deputies about the stolen marijuana at first, according to the report. When officers were checking the apartment, they found a marijuana pipe and grinder, and marijuana stems and seeds.
The resident who reported the incident told deputies his rommate sold marijuana out of the apartment, according to the report. The amount of marijuana stolen could have been anywhere between an ounce and half a pound, the resident told deputies.

The resident also said his roommate fled the scene because he had outstanding warrants with the Irmo Police Department.Β
