Update: Sen. Tim Scott's Downtown Lexington Tour Canceled Due to Rain

The newly-appointed U.S. Senator will meet with town leaders and take a tour of Main Street.

Update: Newly-appointed U.S. Sen. Tim Scott met with Town of Lexington leaders Thursday afternoon to hear about the town's efforts to revitalize the Main Street area. 

Scott did not get to tour Main Street due to the rain, but Mayor Randy Halfacre shared about the town's Vision Plan and Project Icehouse on Main Street.

Lexington Mayor Randy Halfacre, town council members, the Greater Lexington Chamber Executive Committee and Main Street business owners will discuss with Scott the town's Unified Traffic Plan and the Vision Plan. 

Town leaders will also talk to Scott about Lexington's newest project on Main Street: a proposed ampitheater and plaza at the corner of West Main and South Church streets.

Scott will tour Main Street and Lexington Square, the town's newest park and a completed step in Phase I of the Vision Plan. 

The meeting starts at 3:45 p.m. in the conference room on the 3rd floor of the Lexington Municipal Complex.

Gov. Nikki Haley appointed Scott in December after U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint resigned.
