Senate Candidate Sponsors CWP Class
Deedee Vaughters, a candidate for the Sen. District 26 seat, is offering a concealed weapons permit class this weekend.

, a candidate for Sen. District 26, is sponsoring a concealed weapons permit class this weekend.
Registered voters can sign up for the two-day class for free. Classroom instruction will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and includes lunch. Shooting qualification will be held Sunday afternoon in Gaston.
Vaughters says she is a strong supporter of the second amendment.

“I feel strongly that the good citizens of South Carolina are better protected when empowered with the tools necessary to fend-off violent attackers," Vaughters wrote in a press release. "Firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens are simply the most effective deterrent to violent crimes.”
Custom Defensive Solutions will teach the class. Graduates of the course will be eligible to apply to SLED for an S.C. Concealed Weapons Permit.

Vaughters faces Democratic incumbent Nikki Stetzler in the November election. District 26 covers parts of Aiken, Lexington and Saluda counties.
