Sheriff: Gaston Man Shot, Killed at Home
The sheriff's department is looking for the person who shot and killed Jimmy Lee Helms at his home in Gaston Saturday.

Detectives are looking for the person who shot and killed a 60-year-old man in his home near Gaston Saturday.Β
Jimmy Lee Helms died as a result of being shot multiple times in the upper torso, Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman said.Β
Deputies and firefighters responded to a call around 6:45 a.m. concerning a fire at Helms' house on Blackville Road, according to the sheriff's department. Firefighters found Helms' badly-burned body on the couch.

The fire also caused extensive damage to the house, according to the sheriff's department. Deputies say Helms was dead before the fire started.Β
