Lexington County Sheriff Promotes 5 Officers

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts promoted two deputies with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department to work as school resource officers, one deputy to work as an assistant supervisor on a road patrol shift, one deputy to work as an officer in the K-9 Unit and one correctional officer to work as a field training officer.

Metts promoted Aimee Lutz, 32, of Lexington, to serve as a full-time school resource officer at Meadow Glen Middle School near Lexington. Lutz previously served as a road patrol deputy in the South Region Patrol District, which is based in Pelion. Metts appointed Lutz as a deputy on January 4, 2011.

The sheriff promoted Joseph Aaron Poole, 30, of Gaston, to serve as a full-time school resource officer at Airport High School near Cayce. Poole previously served as an assistant shift supervisor in the West Region Patrol District, which is based near Gilbert. Metts appointed Poole as a deputy on July 31, 2006.

Metts promoted John Paul, Jr., 30, of Lexington, to the rank of master deputy and assigned Paul to serve as the assistant supervisor of a road patrol shift in the South Region Patrol District. Paul previously served as a field training officer on a road patrol shift in the West Region Patrol District. Metts appointed Paul as a deputy on July 28, 2008.

The sheriff promoted Nicholas Parker, 34, of Lexington, to serve as a K-9 Unit deputy and assigned Parker to work with Forrest, a bloodhound that the Sheriff’s Department recently acquired, as Parker’s K-9 police dog partner. Parker previously served as the resident deputy for the Red Bank community near Lexington. Metts appointed Parker as a deputy on April 23, 2007.

Metts promoted Monica Randall, 39, of Irmo, to serve as a field training officer for correctional officers who are assigned to the Lexington County Detention Center. Randall previously served as a correctional officer at the Detention Center. Metts appointed Randall as a correctional officer on March 8, 2010.
