Sheriff's Department Blood Drive Draws 72 Units
Lexington residents and Lexington County Sheriff's Department deputies donated blood to the American Red Cross Tuesday.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department employees and citizens donated 72 units of blood to the South Carolina chapter of the American Red Cross during a blood drive Tuesday at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex.
Sheriff James R. Metts thanked the sheriff’s department employees
and citizens who donated blood during the blood drive.
The sheriff’s department regularly conducts blood drives in partnership with the South Carolina chapter of the American Red Cross.

Evidence Clerk Beth Holliman and Master Deputy Chris Lee coordinated the
participation of the sheriff’s department in the blood drive, Metts said. The sheriff encourages citizens to continue to give blood to the American Red Cross.
“The American Red Cross is in need of your help,” Metts said. “Patients are depending on you to roll up your sleeves and make an appointment to give blood.”

Since 2006, blood drives that the sheriff’s department conducted resulted in the donation of 1,175 units of blood to the American Red Cross.
