Sheriff: Woman Steals More Than $200K From Trucking Company
Lori M. Caldwell turned herself in to the sheriff's department Friday on a charge of breach of trust with fraudulent intent, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies charged a 39-year-old Lexington woman Friday with stealing more than $200,000 from the trucking company where she worked.Â
Lori M. Caldwell, 39, of Red Maple Court, deposited $284,491 of Southeastern Freight Lines' money into her personal personal checking account between January 2008 and April 2012, according to a Lexington County Sheirff's Department arrest warrant.Â
As the human resources manager at the company, Caldwell was in charge of submitting advertisements for trucking trade industry magazines in order to seek applicants for jobs with the trucking company, according to the sheriff's department.

She created false invoices and submitted them for payment as expense checks, according to the arrest warrant. She then used the money for her personal expenses.
The sheriff's department is still investigating how Caldwell spent the misappropriated money.Â

The trucking company's legal staff reported the misappropriation to the sheriff's department, Sheriff James R. Metts said. Accounting employees at the company discovered that Caldwell had misappropriated money, he said.
Caldwell turned herself in Friday on a charge of breach of trust with fraudulent intent involving more than $10,000, according to sheriff's department.
The charge is a felony with a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison.Â
