Snowball Festival Continues Today

The Town of Lexington will kick off the holiday season today with its first-ever Snowball Festival. 

Some of the new events this year include a 5K race, a Snow Ball formal and a cell phone walking tour of downtown Lexington. 

The town's annual Christmas parade and tree lighting are scheduled for Sunday as part of the festival.

Here's the complete schedule of events for the two-day festival: 

Saturday

Town of Lexington Snowball Festival 5k Race - 8 a.m.

Proceeds will benefit PattyPacks, a 501c3 assisting families with Congenital Heart Disease.

Town of Lexington Snow “Ball” - 6 p.m.

Lexington Municipal Complex Conference Center

Tickets are $30 per person. They can be purchased at the Town Hall Customer Service or by phone at 951-4630. There is a limit of 200 guests. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and libations will be served. Proceeds will benefit the Chris Myers Children’s Place.

Sunday

Town of Lexington Cell Phone Walking Tour - 2 p.m.

In conjunction with Lexington County Museum. This free tour will promote historical sites in downtown Lexington.

Christmas Parade on Main Street - 3:30 p.m.

Merry Mingle on Main and Craft Corner - 5 p.m.

Concert at Lexington Square - 5:30 p.m.

Tree Lighting at Lexington Square - 6:30 p.m.
