Southlake Village Senior Community to Get $3.7M Transformation

Improvements will include recreation and spa amenities, a movie theatre, freshly-prepared meals and outdoor living areas.

The four-year-old Village at Southlake senior community with 124 rental residences, including garden cottages and patio homes, will be transformed into a resort and spa for  seniors in the "boomer generation."

Drever Capital Management, co-owner and partner with Columbia-based Southlake Village, LLC that built the property in 2008, is investing $3.7 million into the 13-acre property located on Gibson Road.

“We are setting a new standard in retirement living in the southeastern United States," said Noah Drever, managing director of Drever Capital Management. "We believe this transformation will offer an elegant but affordable luxury residential community.”

The improvements will include recreation and spa amenities, a barbecue center, a spacious redesigned clubhouse, a movie theatre, fully-equipped indoor-outdoor entertaining kitchens, a wine bar and a technology center. A patio garden will also be the source of fresh herbs grown by the dining room’s executive chef.

The clubhouse is being planned as a destination for members of the Lexington community along with Village residents. It will accommodate audiences for live community theatre, exhibits, parties and even musical performances.

New spaces of serenity and relaxation will be created, including an extensive nature preserve with a pond and habitat. There will be walking paths, seating areas and horticultural educational activities.

Realizing that the number one issue at senior residential communities is the food program, a new gourmet program has already been implemented. All meals will be prepared fresh and on-site by the community's professional chef and his five sous chefs who work with a dietician to create healthy menus.
