Town Annexes Future Site of Avtec Manufacturing Company
The company is building a 46,000-square-foot facility near South Lake Drive and Glassmaster Road.

Lexington town councilmembers officially annexed the future site Avtec Inc. into the town at November's council meeting.Β
Town leaders passed the final reading of an ordinance annexing the property that will be home to the manufacturing company's 46,000-square-foot facility near South Lake Drive and Glassmaster Road. Company officials held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site last month.

The communications technology company based in Gilbert expects to generate 25 new jobs with its new facility, according to a press release from the Town of Lexington. Construction is expected to be complete by May 2013.
"The Town of Lexington is honored to be the new home forΒ Avtec. They hold an esteemed presence in our community and provide quality products to industry services such as airlines, railway, utilities and government," town officials said in a statement. "We look forward toΒ Avtec expanding their customer base as a result of their new state-of-the-art location."

The town plans to create a technology-based park by bringing two more companies to the 35 additional acres near the Avtec property.Β
