Update: Driver Ejected, Killed in I-26 Crash
A West Columbia man died in the single-vehicle crash on I-26, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Update, 5 p.m.:Â A West Columbia man died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 26 Tuesday afternoon, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.Â
William Dale Maples, 49, died at the scene of the crash near mile marker 109, which is near the U.S. 378 exit, according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office.
Maples was ejected from his vehicle when he crashed, Trooper Billy Elder said. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers said earlier Tuesday investigators were looking for a pickup truck with wood paneling on the side. They have canceled that alert.Â
The S.C. Highway Patrol is still investigating the wreck.Â

Original story, 3 p.m.:Â Troopers are looking for a pickup truck they say was involved in a fatal wreck on Interstate 26 Tuesday afternoon.
The truck has wood paneling on the sides and was carrying trash and possibly some bags, S.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Billy Elder said.
The truck was traveling west on I-26 when it was involved in a crash around 12 p.m. near mile marker 109, which is near the U.S. 378 exit, Elder said. Troopers have not said how the truck was involved in the wreck.Â
William Dale Maples, 49, of West Columbia died in the crash, according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office.Â
