What's Closed for the Holidays in Lexington?
Here's a roundup of places that will be closed during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Local government
- Lexington County administrative offices will be closed Monday through Wednesday for Christmas. They'll also be closed Jan. 1 for New Year's Day.
- Lexington County residential curbside pickup will operate under an adjusted schedule. See the schedule here.Â
- The 11 Lexington County Residential Collection and Recycling Centers will operate on regular hours except on Christmas Eve when they'll close at 3 p.m.
- The Lexington County Solid Waste Management landfill and transfer station will be closed on Christmas Day and Jan. 1 for New Year's Day. On Christmas Eve, it will close at 3 p.m.
- Town of Lexington offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday for Christmas. Solid waste collection will be delayed one day starting Tuesday. (For example, Tuesday collection will be Wednesday, and Wednesday collection will be Thursday.)
- Town offices will also be closed Jan. 1 for New Year's Day. Solid waste collection will be delayed one day starting Tuesday.
- All branches of the Lexington County Public Library system will be closed Saturday through Wednesday for Christmas. On New Year's Eve, all branches will close at 5:30 p.m. and re-open on Jan. 2.Â
State governmentÂ
- The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed Monday through Wednesday for Christmas and on Jan. 1 for New Year's Day.
- Other state offices will also be closed Monday through Wednesday for Christmas and Jan. 1 for New Year's Day.
Federal government
- Post offices will be closed for Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Most post offices will close at noon for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.Â
Banks

Services
- SCE&G will be closed Monday and Tuesday, but their online and over-the-phone customer service center will be open 24/7.
- Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday for Christmas and Jan. 1 for New Year's Day.Â
