Update: White Knoll Beats Irmo, Moves on to Semifinals

Update: The White Knoll Timberwolves beat Irmo 3-0 Friday, moving them on to the semifinals of the Class 4A Division I playoffs. 

This is the first time the Timberwolves have defeated the Yellowjackets after playing against each other eight times in the past eight years.

The Timberwolves now stand at 10-3. 

The team will play at home next week against Dutch Fork in the semifinals.

Original story: The White Knoll Timberwolves will go up against the Irmo Yellowjackets Friday night in the second round of the Class 4A Division I playoffs. 

The Timberwolves beat Wando High School 25-20 in the first round of the playoffs last week. The team also finished their regular season with eight wins — a record for the school, according to a report in The State. 

But the Timberwolves don't know what it's like to overtake the Yellowjackets, according to The State. The teams have played each other eight times in the past eight years, and Irmo has won every time. 

Irmo has a record of 7-5, while White Knoll stands at 9-3.

Friday's game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Irmo High School.
