Woman Arrested After Deputy Finds Meth Lab in Car

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Patty E. Boatwright Thursday after finding a mobile meth lab in her car.

Deputies arrested a Batesburg woman Thursday after they discovered a meth lab and two guns in her vehicle during a routine traffic stop, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.

Patty E. Boatwright, 25, of 162 Goose Platter Road in Batesburg is charged with manufacturing meth and posessing a firearm during a violent crime. Under S.C. law, manufacturing meth is a violent crime.Β 

A deputy stopped Boatwright in the 200 block of Green Gold Drive after he noticed a large crack in her windshield, accoridng to the sheriff's department. The deputy saw a funnel hose extending from the rear-seat compartment and noticed a strong smell consistent with manufacturing meth.

When the deputy searched the car, he found a meth lab and the two guns, according to the sheriff's department.

Boatwright is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
