Thinking of a move to the Myrtle Beach area, but donβt know where to start? What if we could connect you with a real estate agent that not only has over 100 5-star reviews on Zillow β but has lived through a relocation herself and understands the process well. Val Lyons at Realty One Group knows that details matter. If youβre downsizing, relocating, or curious about home taxes in a new area, Val knows the market and understands communication is key. Here are the top three stories in Myrtle Beach today:
- On the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the Myrtle Beach community held multiple events across the city to remember the lives lost. Nearly 450 bikers participated in a memorial ride at Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson to support the Horry County Firefighter Relief Fund. A ceremony was also held at the Unity Memorial in Warbird Park, which features a beam from the North Tower. "I'm here to remember," said Ernest Trinca, who worked in the military on Sep. 11, 2001. "That's what we should do β remember β every year on 9/11." (wpde.com)
- South Carolina's first surf park could become a reality with a potential land deal right here in Myrtle Beach. According to the Myrtle Beach City Council's agenda, a Council meeting this morning (Sep. 13) will include a discussion of the authorization to sell 21.6 acres to MHI Capital, LLC for the proposed surf park and amphitheater. The project could potentially create 50 full-time jobs and generate nearly $46.5 million in income for the city. The purchase agreement reportedly includes provisions to allow the city to reacquire the property if development is unsuccessful. (wpde.com)
- Myrtle Beach police have charged 50-year-old Christopher Stuckey with multiple counts of sex crimes involving a teenage girl, according to officials. Stuckey's charges include two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and disseminating harmful material or exhibiting harmful performance to minors, for incidents that allegedly happened between Aug. 27 and Sep. 3.
