5 Ways to Get Active in Summerville

Get moving with these activities in Summerville.

Looking for ways to get active in Summerville? Here's five ways to get and keep active in the Summerville are:

  • Play ball. Adult Softball Leagues has its registration deadline Aug. 21. Games are played on weeknights at the Jerry Blackwell Sports Complex.  For more information on getting your team registered, contact Eric Davis at 843-851-5211 or edavis@summervillesc.gov.  Summerville Little League is also registering players for the little players. Registration events are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 10 and Aug. 17 at Jerry Blackwell Sports Complex at 600 W. Boundary St. For more info, click here http://www.summervillelittleleague.org/.
  • Get Dancing. Free shag lessons are offered 7 p.m. every Monday night at Summerville Country Club. Contact Lee Hoff, 843-214-0242 or hoff5224@bellsouth.net  
  • Take advantage of the Sawmill Branch Trail or the town's new skateboard park. Grab your walking shoes, skateboard, bike or whatever and enjoy the amenities! Click here to get directions or more information. 
  • Play tennis. The Town of Summerville offers several tennis activities for adults and juniors. A 4-week adult clinic held Saturdays costs $65. Thursdays are Cardio Tennis. Contact Nancy Sumersett at 843-270-1017 if you would like to play tennis.
  • Exercise for a cause. The 14th annual 5K Race for the Ark is Aug. 24. Click here for info. The 2013 Miles for Missions 5K is Oct. 26. Click here for info.
