District Employees Recognized for Performance
Dorchester Two employees recognized for their hardwork.

Twenty-eight Dorchester County School District Two employees were recognized as 2013 Star Performers. All schools and district job sites selected a 2013 Star Performer of the Year from among classified staff and they were recognized at this annual awards program followed by a reception. This recognition program was created to showcase the outstanding caliber of all classified employees in the school district. There are 1,124 classified employees working in the district that make a tremendous contribution to the smooth day-to-day operation of schools and the district.
Representatives from all twenty-two schools, maintenance department, special services, extended day program, food service, technology, and district support staff were selected by co-workers for this special honor. Recipients of this award included a wide range of classified positions at schools and district work sites including secretaries, custodial staff, nurses, lunchroom workers, technology support, teaching assistants, and maintenance personnel. Â
"(Star Performers are) a group of truly dedicated members of the district family that work hard to provide support for students, staff, and parents with a positive and caring attitude,"Â Superintendent Joe Pye said. He called the Star Performers the "backbone" of the district.Â
