Mellow Mushroom to Open in Summerville

Mellow Mushroom will open later this year at the former Perkins Restaurant on North Main Street, Live 5 News reported.

The announcement was made Monday. 

Live 5 News reported part-owner Johnny Hudgins said:

"We have been excited about coming to Summerville for almost a decade. We have been fortunate to have many customers who live in Summerville come down to our stores in Charleston and encouraged us to come to town. We had been looking for awhile and the perfect location came our way. We are very excited to serve everyone closer to home soon."

Mellow Mushroom also has locations in Mount Pleasant, downtown Charleston and in West Ashley. 

Live 5 News reported the new restaurant is expected to create about 50 jobs.
