Scouts Rally to fight Bladder Cancer Saturday

Rally for bladder cancer and barbecue fundraiser this Saturday at Knightsville Baptist Church.

The Summerville community is invited to rally and eat barbecue in a fundraising effort for those aflicted with bladder cancer 11 a.m. Saturday at Knightsville Baptist Church.

The event is one among 70 nationwide as part of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network. The event is being hosted by Boy Scout Troop 2, which will also hold the barbecue fundraiser.

According to a statement by the troop, troop members were affected by bladder cancer this year when a scout's grandmother died of the disease. The troop committed to raise funds and work toward the cause for the rest of the year.
