Decades-Old Rape Case Closed
A jury has convicted Herbert Leroy Holmes, 47, with a 1984 rape, and Holmes was sentenced to 30 years in jail, according to Live 5 News.Â
Holmes was convicted of one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of kidnapping Thursday. The assault was on a Summerville bookstore employee, and Holmes was not charged with the case until 2009.

Summerville Police have charged Victoria Kay Craver, 19, and Michael Cherry, 49, were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine after a traffic stop Friday, according to ABC News 4.
A search of the vehicle showed materials consistent with manufacturing methamphetamine.Â
Woman Accused of Using Ambulance as Taxi
Dorchester County Sheriff's Office has told media that Audrey Ferguson, 51, of Dorchester has called EMS and requested transport to Summerville Medical at least 100 times in seven years, according to WISTV.com.
Ferguson allegedly told deputies she didn't have a car and this was the only way she had to get around and Medicaid paid for it. Each ambulance trip cost $425 plus mileage.Â
