Teen Arrested With 5 Guns in USC Dorm
Trevor Scott Stephens faces felony charges and prison time.
A 17 year-old from Walterboro in Colleton County enrolled at USC has found himself in trouble before he's even attended class.
Multiple media outlets have reported that Trevor Scott Stephens was arrested on Tuesday and charged with possessing hand guns on school property without permission, which is a felony. Stephens was released to his parents on Wednesday on a $20,000 bond. He faces up to five years in jail and a $5,000 fine.
According to a report in The State, university police were tipped off by a staff member at Maxcy College Residence Hall that Stephens was in a possession of a weapon. Upon arriving at his dorm room, police found the following in a bag in Stephens' closet:

Stephens was immediately taken into custody, suspended from the university, banned from campus and ordered to avoid contact with any students, faculty or staff. A school official said he did not believe Stephens was planning an attack. In the last month there has been gun violence in Colo., Wisc., and on the campus of Texas A & M.
Maxcy College is the only "internationally themed residence hall" at USC, according to the school's website. It is new for 2012 and sits between Pendleton and Greene Streets outside the "horseshoe" on campus and less than two blocks from the Statehouse (see map).
