Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

1. The Tennessee Aquarium is training the next generation of biologists with its Summer Fellowships program. The students gain valuable experience while assisting aquarium staff with research projects and protecting Southeastern aquatic life. The fellows are vital for the aquarium's grant-funded work. 2. Chattanooga's gas prices continue to decline steadily. The average price of gasoline in Chattanooga is now $4.24 per gallon — 9.1 cents lower than last week. Chattanooga's price is still lower than the national average of $4.78 per gallon. It is unclear if the prices will continue to decline. (Chattanooga Pulse)
3. Chattanooga Market will be celebrating its Peach Festival on Sunday. Vendors will be selling peach-inspired salsas, candles, cobblers, and more. There will be plenty of peaches available. There will also be live music on the Lodge Cast Iron Sizzle State. Paul Childers will perform at 12:30 p.m., followed by Courtney Daly at 2:00 p.m. (The Chattanoogan)

• Outdoor Chattanooga is offering an intro to flatwater paddling course on Jul. 16 at 9:00 a.m. The course will teach individuals how to set up, transport, and paddle a boat. The cost is $10 per person. The event will be held at Chester Frost County Park. (City of Chattanooga)
