Ring In 2026 With 3rd Annual New Year's Eve Celebration At Coolidge Park (chattanoogapulse.com) — Chattanooga families can ring in 2026 at a free New Year’s Eve celebration in Coolidge Park on Tuesday, Dec. 31, featuring kids’ activities from 3:30 p.m., an early children’s countdown, and a midnight fireworks show over the Tennessee River. Local performers, food vendors, and a full main-stage lineup will keep the party going from late afternoon through midnight.

The Tivoli: Chattanooga's Most Historic And Timeless Performance Venue (chattanoogapulse.com) — Chattanoogans can look forward to the Tivoli reopening in 2026 after a $70 million restoration that’s preserving its ornate historic character while modernizing the beloved venue. The piece traces the theater’s century-long role in Chattanooga’s cultural life, from movie palace to civic anchor, and highlights how the Tivoli Theatre Foundation sees this project shaping downtown arts and community gatherings for generations.
   

3. EPB named top utility for customer satisfaction for 10th year (timesfreepress.com) — Chattanooga’s city-owned utility EPB has been ranked the South’s top midsize electric utility for customer satisfaction for the 10th straight year, even as national satisfaction plunges amid rising power bills. EPB highlights its smart grid reliability, assistance programs like PowerShare and Home Uplift, and lower-than-average bill increases as key reasons customers continue to rate it so highly.
   

4. Cheryl Duke Guy (thedunlap-tribune.com) — Longtime Chattanooga resident Cheryl Duke Guy, a devoted grandmother and Harley-Davidson enthusiast, passed away on Dec. 20 in Dunlap at age 66. She spent nearly four decades calling Chattanooga home and is remembered lovingly by her children, including a daughter in Chattanooga, grandchildren, siblings, and close friends. A Celebration of Life will be held later.
   

5. Ooltewah's young shot put star throws age-old records out the window (newschannel9.com) — A 12-year-old Ooltewah middle schooler is now the top-ranked shot putter in the nation for his age, thanks in part to training with Chattanooga’s Topp Speed track and field club and coach Reggie Parks. After breaking the U.S. record with a 54-foot, 7.5-inch throw in Birmingham, he’s focusing on refining his technique while keeping his long-term life goals refreshingly down-to-earth.
