Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. Bike Chattanooga has kicked off its 10th year. The bikesharing program provides opportunities to residents without having to use a vehicle. The program has grown to 42 stations and 400 bikes - with 55 e-bikes in service. The program plans to add another 50 e-bikes and another charging station to celebrate its 10th anniversary.   2. Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga is currently accepting nominations for its first City of Potential Awards Breakfast. The event is meant to honor individuals that impact lives through mentoring. Nominations will be accepted through Friday with the event scheduled for Sept. 14. Click to nominate. (WTVC)
  3. Chattanooga SWAT arrested Sterling M. Smith, 34, after he barricaded himself in his home following an altercation with his girlfriend. Smith allegedly put his girlfriend in a chokehold and threatened her with a handgun. He has been charged with one count of aggravated domestic assault and one county of vandalism/malicious mischief. He is being held on a $10,000 bond. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
