- Volkswagen Chattanooga is ramping up its hiring initiatives to launch its first electric vehicle's assembly line. The Chattanooga plant will be building the battery-powered ID.4 SUV. To launch the assembly line, the plant will be hiring 1,200 new employees. It is unclear when the first ID.4 SUV will leave the assembly line. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- The Hamilton County Health Department has announced that the COVID-19 transmission level is "high.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises residents to wear masks indoors during a "high" designation. The recommendation is not dependent on vaccination status. (WDEF News 12)
- Hamilton County mayoral candidate Matt Adams is demanding Hardball Capital be transparent about Republic Weston Wamp's communications with the Chattanooga Lookouts. Hardball Capital is the parent company of the Chattanooga Lookouts. The communications are related to Wamp's leadership in the Lookout's new stadium project. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
