- The Chattanooga Rotary Club is providing funding to Clinica Medicos to purchase over 400 combined Cepheid cartridges. The funding will allow the clinic to rapidly detect COVID-19, Flu A/B, and RSV in Chattanooga's most vulnerable residents. The funds total $30,000 — half from the local club and half from the national Rotary Foundation. (The Chattanoogan)
- Chattanooga Elks Lodge is providing home improvements to qualified veterans. The improvements are free of charge and part of the organization's Home Sweet Home project. The project started this year and is funded through the Elks National Foundation. (WTVC)
- The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce has announced its support for a plan to build a new stadium in the South Broad District. The plan would reportedly provide numerous economic benefits for the area and for the city as a whole. According to the organization, 78 percent of its members support efforts meant to maintain the Chattanooga Lookouts. (WDEF News 12)

- The Chattanooga Buskers Festival will be on Sunday, Aug. 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at First Horizon Pavilion. Tips are appreciated — bring cash or coins. (Chattanooga Market)
- The Chattanooga Margarita Festival will be on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 6:00 p.m. at First Horizon Pavilion. 20 different restaurants will be competing for the title of best margarita recipe. (Big Tickets)
