- Chattanooga State Community College has launched its Chattanooga Freight Broker Academy. The 8-week workforce development training is meant to prepare students for a career in freight brokering. The program will begin on Aug. 2. According to the community college, the ideal student will be extroverted with a penchant for sales development. (Press Release Desk)
- Chattanooga's Covenant Logistics Group Inc. posted record quarterly earnings on Monday. According to the local trucking giant, quarterly earnings rose 71 percent since last year. The increase is attributed to adding AAT Carriers while improving overall shipment pricing. The company expects moderate freight demand for the remainder of 2022 coupled with rising cost inflation. - The Tennessee Aquarium reported five children were injured during an escalator incident on Monday. According to the Aquarium, two children toppled backward and sent about 12 other children falling. The children were reportedly not using the escalator according to the aquarium's safety policy and behavioral contract. The five children were treated for minor abrasions, muscle aches, and anxiety with two children taken to local hospitals as a precaution. (The Chattanoogan)
