Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. Residents at the Gunbarrel Road location of American House suffered from a burst pipe on Christmas Eve. All residents were evacuated to the Lee Highway location which then lost water. Once the pipe issue was fixed, residents were moved back to their original location and now talks of transferring residents from the Lee Highway location to Gunbarrel Road are taking place because the building still did not have running water as of Wednesday. (WTVC)
  2. A man and woman are facing charges after assaulting six people on Dec. 16 at the Motel 6 on Lee Highway. The pair went into a hotel room with a revolver and a knife and got away with $4,000 in cash. Laurence Beaver, 49, is charged with multiple accounts of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. His accomplice, Destiny McDaniel, has a warrant out for her arrest and had not been located as of Dec. 28. (WTVC)
  3. Plumbers in the Chattanooga area are in high demand after the arctic weather hit the area. The below-freezing temperatures froze water and burst pipes in homes during the holiday season and has plumbers' phones ringing off the hook. As the temperatures increase and pipes thaw, people may realize they have issues and the demand will continue to grow. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
