  1. Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy spoke about her plans to review her police department's use of force policy in light of the recent death of Tyre Nicols. Murphy addressed a group of community members during a town hall meeting on Monday evening at the Greater Community Church of Chattanooga. Attendees also had the opportunity to ask Murphy questions regarding department policies and other related issues. (Subscription: Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  2. The Chattanooga Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women will be hosting its annual fundraiser, the Mardi Gras Ball, on Sunday, Mar. 4. The event will take place at the Chattanooga Convention Center starting at 6:45 p.m. It will enable the organization in its efforts to improve the community, such as by providing scholarships to female high school seniors. Two students at the University of Tennesee at Chattanooga are working on developing an app that would connect students who don't want to clean with those who wouldn't mind cleaning to earn extra money.
