Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly has proposed using American Rescue Plan Act funds to stimulate the city's economy. The proposal seeks to invest $30 million into the city's local innovative measures to close the gap in public health and education. The proposal will need to be approved by the City Council.   2. Chattanooga travelers may experience wide loads on Chattanooga streets this weekend. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, several trucks transporting large equipment will be crossing the city to the Gestamp plant. The department will be escorting the vehicles.   3. Chattanooga's Humane Educational Society is attempting to clear the shelter this month. The shelter, which must be cleared due to strained resources, will be offering free adoptions and fostering throughout the end of July. Click to apply to adopt. (Chattanooga Pulse)
