Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- A retired Chattanooga Police Department sergeant died in a car crash on Wednesday. Walter Maples, 93 years old, sustained fatal injuries during the incident that occurred in the 6000 block of Shallowford Road. The other crash victims were reportedly treated at the scene for minor injuries. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- The Chattanooga Beer Board has rejected a settlement between the City of Chattanooga and Blue Light. The proposed settlement was for 6 violations that occurred last year. The Board rejected the settlement through a 5-2 vote. The case will now continue. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- The Chattery will be conducting an open house at 1800 Rossville Ave., Suite 108 tomorrow, Jul. 23, to encourage local craft making. The event will feature craft stations, mimosas, and the opportunity to connect with the Chattanooga community. Registration is not required but is encouraged. The event will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (The Chattanoogan)
