- A mixed-use development in St. Elmo's commercial district is back in development after the pandemic paused the project. The new plans for the development have expanded the original proposal that was presented in 2019 and may cost around $75 million to build. The project plans to include shops, residential properties, offices, and a boutique hotel and parking in the middle of St. Elmo. (Subscription: Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- The Chattanooga Police Department will be holding a town mall meeting on Monday, Feb. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Greater Community Church of Chattanooga. The town hall is meant to offer the opportunity for the public to talk about the recent death of Tyre Nichols at the hands of five former Memphis police officers. Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy and some city officials will also talk about the police department's efforts toward accountability and an improved culture within the department.
