Tennessee Woman Indicted On 18 Child Rape Charges: Report

The woman is accused of trading items for sex with male students at McMinn Central High School in Athens.

ATHENS, TN — A McMinn County woman was indicted on 23 sex charges after being accused by police of trading items for sexual encounters with male students who attend McMinn Central High School, according to a report from WATE TV.

Melissa Blair, 38 of Englewood, was indicted on 18 counts of aggravated statutory rape, four counts of human trafficking by prostitution and one count of solicitation. Blair, who has never been a school employee, turned herself Tuesday and was booked into McMinn County Jail on $100,000 bond, according to the report.

McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy said Blair used social media to facilitate the encounters between spring 2020 through late 2021, according to the report.
