Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. A Chattanooga man has been charged with attempted criminal homicide after making threats on Wednesday night. Bradley Meyers allegedly told officers that he would kill himself and another victim. He also fired three shots from a firearm during the incident. According to the victim, Meyers was intoxicated. He will now appear in Judge Christie Sell's courtroom on Wednesday. (The Chattanoogan)
  2. Chattanooga's Volkswagen Drive will temporarily close for a few days. The road will close Tuesday morning, Jul. 5, and reopen no later than 9:00 p.m. on Friday, Jul. 8. The closure is reportedly necessary for construction on a state industrial access road. There are two alternative routes from I-75. (tn.gov)
  3. The Chattanooga Market will be celebrating the Fourth of July this weekend. The event is titled "Red, White, and Blue" and will feature a blueberry pie-eating contest on Sunday. There will be a sign-up sheet at the front desk for entries to register. Winners will be given a brand new blueberry pie as a reward. (WTVC)
