ETSU: League Of Legends Begins Second Season

The competition against Florida Polytechnic University begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22.

JOHNSON CITY – East Tennessee State University’s League of Legends team will begin its second season this Saturday, January 22 against Florida Polytechnic University.

The game begins at 4 p.m. and can be viewed at twitch.tv/etsuesports or on the 32-foot video wall in the esports arena inside the D.P. Culp Student Center.
Livestreaming will start at 3:45 p.m.

ETSU announced the formation of its League of Legends varsity team in December 2019
which competed in its first season last winter. The team finished the Collegiate League
of Legends with a 4-2 season record. They also placed second in the Battle at Buff
Nation and placed in the top 8 at the Drury League of Legends Invitational.

Lucca Weber will serve as team captain for his second season. Casters, or announcers,
for the League of Legends games are ETSU students A.J. Sedlak, a computing major from
Johnson City and Chris Moser, of Memphis, who is a visual effects major.

Sponsors for ETSU’s esports program include ETSU Online, Geico, Mobalytics and Kovaak’s.

ETSU’s League of Legends team is currently ranked in the top third of competing teams.
