Johnson City School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Johnson City is August 2. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Johnson City School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 7/28: Administrative Day
• 7/31: Administrative Day

August

• 8/2: First Day of School, Student Half Day (Elementary 11:30 a.m., Intermediate 11:10 a.m., Middle 11:00 a.m., High School 11:00 a.m.)

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/29: End of 9-Week Term

October

• 10/2 - 10/6: No School (Fall Break)

November

• 11/7: No School for Students (Election Day and Teacher/Parent Conference Day)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)
• 11/27 - 11/30: EOC for High School

December

• 12/1 - 12/15: EOC for High School
• 12/18: Final Exams
• 12/19: Student Half Day (Elementary 11:30 a.m., Intermediate 11:10 a.m., Middle 11:00 a.m., High School 11:00 a.m.), Final Exams, End of First Semester
• 12/20 - 12/19: No School (Winter Vacation)
