• ETSU to open SoCon play at The Citadel (timesnews.net) — ETSU men’s basketball, based in Johnson City, opens Southern Conference play Tuesday night on the road at The Citadel after an uneven non-conference stretch. The Bucs lean on senior guard Brian Taylor II and a trio of 6-foot-8 contributors inside. Coaches hope to translate their home success in Johnson City into better results away from Freedom Hall.

• Ink of Hope Act will require tattoo artists to complete human trafficking course (wate.com) — Tattoo artists in Johnson City and across Tennessee will soon be required to complete a free, one-hour human trafficking awareness course to keep their licenses valid. Local shop owners say the new Ink of Hope Act will help newer artists recognize red flags and protect vulnerable clients. The mandate begins January 1, 2026, with a completion deadline of December 31, 2028.
