• Johnson City warns of scam involving emailed invoices (wjhl.com) — Johnson City officials are warning residents about fake emailed invoices that misuse the city’s seal and planning staff names while demanding wire transfers. Real planning fee notices may come by email, but payments are only taken in person or through the CityView portal, never by wire. Residents are urged to call the Planning Division or Police Department to verify any suspicious request.

After a practice stop at Wake Forest with former coach Steve Forbes, head coach Brooks Savage says the team’s new depth and balanced scoring could make them a tougher, more exciting squad for Johnson City fans to follow this season.
