About 850 volunteers, including Troop 36 from Johnson City, helped place wreaths and will return January 10 to retire them, ensuring local veterans’ sacrifices for both country and Tri-Cities are not forgotten.

• Doe Valley Farm to host Tennessee Songwriters Week 2026 qualifying round (timesnews.net) — Songwriters and music fans in Johnson City can get involved in Tennessee Songwriters Week 2026 through a local qualifying round at the Boones Creek Museum & Opry, alongside other nearby venues. A main qualifying event happens Jan. 31 at Doe Valley Farm in Mountain City, with winners advancing to a Kingsport showcase and a chance to ultimately perform at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe.
