1. Memphis celebrates renewed Cobblestone Landing riverfront project (commercialappeal.com) — City leaders gathered downtown to cut the ribbon on the renewed Cobblestone Landing project at the new Union Avenue Overlook, right where Union meets Riverside by the river. The ceremony marks another major investment in Memphis’ riverfront, with Mayor Paul Young and council members highlighting the revamped public space for residents and visitors.
   

2. Drug more potent than fentanyl seized in Memphis (wreg.com) — A powerful synthetic opioid more potent than fentanyl was seized during a recent West Tennessee Drug Task Force operation at an undisclosed location in Memphis, along with eight pounds of meth. Local officials say fluorofentanyl significantly increases overdose risks and often requires multiple naloxone doses, and they credit a state-funded violent crime initiative for supporting agents working in some of Memphis’ highest-crime areas.
   

3. Shelby County removes tree from man's house after FOX13 report (fox13memphis.com) — A South Memphis homeowner finally saw a dangerous fallen tree removed from his roof after FOX13 pressed Shelby County’s land bank to act. The case highlights how uninsured Memphis homeowners can be left paying for storm damage themselves, and why documenting hazardous trees and maintaining insurance coverage remain crucial protections for local families.
   

4. Man who opened fire outside his former Jewish school in Memphis avoids prison with guilty plea (ksgf.com) — A man who fired shots outside Margolin Hebrew Academy in Memphis in 2023 has avoided prison time, receiving eight years of probation after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and aggravated burglary. The case, heard in a Shelby County courtroom, has prompted the East Memphis Jewish day school to further tighten security while leaders emphasize healing and safety for students and staff.
   

5. TN Lottery Mega Millions, Cash4Life winning numbers for Dec. 12, 2025 (tennessean.com subscription) — Tennessee Lottery players can now check the Dec. 12 winning numbers and see exactly how to claim prizes, including at the Memphis District Office on U.S. Highway 64.
