Company lays off dozens of Memphis workers (fox13memphis.com) — Dozens of Memphis workers will lose their jobs January 30 when Archer Daniels Midland shuts down cottonseed crushing operations at its facility in the Hollywood neighborhood. The Memphis plant’s oil refinery will continue under a new joint venture with an Arkansas company, but 95 local positions are being cut. These layoffs push Shelby County’s 2025 total to 1,374, still below last year’s number.

Prosecutors highlighted texts, staff accounts, and FBI raid photos, while the defense attacked the investigation’s methods and evidence gaps, urging jurors to find reasonable doubt.

Church donates to Memphis mother shot multiple times by husband (fox13memphis.com) — A Memphis church congregation rallied around a local mother of four who survived being shot more than 20 times, making sure her children still have a joyful Christmas. After an assistant pastor visited her in the hospital, members delivered food baskets and toys, and the story highlights her ongoing recovery, her warning to others facing domestic violence, and ways neighbors can help.
