University Of Memphis Lambuth Admits Largest Class Of Nursing Students For Spring Semester

There are currently five cohorts of Nursing students at the UofM Lambuth and since the beginning of the Nursing program in 2012, the numbers have steadily increased. This January, UofM Lambuth will admit 65 students to the new cohort.

This should push overall enrollment of Nursing students at UofM Lambuth to more than 200. With each cohort moving to 60, within a couple of years, the expectation is that the overall Nursing enrollment will move to be at approximately 300. The UofM continues to invest in the Lambuth campus and the Loewenberg College of Nursing. Newly renovated Sprague Hall at a cost of $6 million will be the new home for the growing programs.

“We are very excited about the continued growth,” said Dr. Niles Reddick, dean of the UofM Lambuth. “This continues to meet the workforce development needs of our healthcare community.”

According to Dr. Brad Harrell, associate dean of Nursing, “Our staff has worked tirelessly to be more creative and proactive in their recruitment efforts. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results.”

In fall 2021, UofM Lambuth awarded more scholarship funds than ever totaling $133,506, most notably from West Tennessee Healthcare scholarships.
